What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction is centered around the gift of sacred listening and conversation. As a Spiritual Director, I listen to you and to the Holy Spirit. I invite you to reflect on your life and longings in the presence of God. I ask gentle questions to help you gain clarity and insight into your desires and how God is working and leading in your life.
Spiritual Direction offers a safe space to talk to your Spiritual Director and to God about anything that is on your mind and heart. You’ll be met with compassion, openness, and gentle questions to help you reflect more deeply on how God might be meeting you in your emotions and experiences. Nothing is too big or too small to bring to the conversation.
In our busy, disconnected world, Spiritual Direction is an invitation to take a holy pause, to make room for God, to nurture your spirit, and to move towards those things which bring you life.

What is a Spiritual Director?
My role as a Spiritual Director is to accompany you on your journey of spiritual growth. I will help you to become more aware of God’s presence and invitations to deeper intimacy through the experiences of your life. My goal is to help you become more attuned to God’s presence in your life and to respond more fully to Him.

I will assist you to articulate these experiences, savor them slowly, and integrate them into your life over time.

(The phrase “Spiritual Director” is a misnomer in a way, because it is not so much about being directive as it is about being curious, receptive, aware, and responsive to the movement of the Holy Spirit in your life. It is understood that the Holy Spirit is the true Director, Advocate, or Counselor given to lead us into truth as we are able to bear it (John 14:15-26 and John 15:26). I would be present to assist you in paying attention to the invitations of the Holy Spirit and to support you in making a faithful response.)

What is a Spiritual Direction Session like?
We’ll meet approximately once a month for an hour, in person or on Zoom/FaceTime. During the hour, our time is spent talking, praying, contemplating, and reflecting. I will ask open-ended questions about how you’ve been noticing God’s presence in your life since the last time we met, pray with you and for you, and sit with you as we wait on God’s direction. I may make observations, but will not judge or offer advice. Everything we talk about will be held confidential.

Who can benefit from receiving spiritual direction?
If you already have a relationship with God through Jesus but wish to grow in prayer and in discerning the Holy Spirit’s voice in your life, I’d be honored to talk with you about the potential benefit of a Spiritual Direction relationship. I’m never offended if, after talking with me, you decide to go with another Spiritual Director. I am happy to provide some recommendations for you to explore and I completely trust Jesus to make this clear to us.

What is the cost of Spiritual Direction?
